It is always a lovely experience to eat here. Being a Sunday afternoon it was fairly quiet - but it can get busy & is very popular for family gatherings. We hadn't been able to visit for a while but on our recent visit (4/5/25) the food was as excellent as it's always been. They serve the best garlic bread here - crisp & soft at the same time. The prawn cocktail starter was very good & nicely presented. My all-time favourite pasta, salmon tagliatelle was as good as ever and generously loaded with hot smoked salmon, mushrooms and it's signature cream and tomato sauce. My husband enjoyed his lasagne which he pronounced to be excellent. A perfect finisher was a Bailey's creme brulee expertly made and not too sweet but with a crisp, brown (not burnt) sugar topping. Good service throughout. We were very pleased to find everything as good as it's ever been. Thankyou to Sue & staff. We will be back - soon!
Despite the many restaurants in Urmston we chose the Italian Job for a works get together. The perfect choice!! The most delicious food and wonderful service. The team waiting on just make you feel so special. Their care and attention is second to none and simply complements beautifully prepared and presented food. Thanks Su and your team. The best restaurant around!!! Ps... Con Pepperoni Pizza is the best outside of Naples!!!!
This is an absolute gem to Urmston and to Greater Manchester itself. The Italian Job maintains a strong, authentic Italian experience with bustling atmosphere and fantastic food. The staff are friendly as ever and chat with you, and if you’re a regular (like us) then you’re Esentially family. With incredibly fast service for how busy they get, and a fantastic price for the quality and quantity of food, you really can’t go wrong. Best in Urmston, Best in Manchester.
The Italian Job is an authentic gem in Great Manchester, because authentic is also the all Italian tradition that this family-owned business carries on. We loved the atmosphere, we loved the impeccable & friendly service and, of course, we loved the food! I had the "Seabass Provencale": and it was exquisite. Great wine selection as well: we will definitely go back.
On a busy night where there was several large parties (including mine) the staff were helpful providing extra seating at short notice and attentive and ensured everyone had a great experience. Would definitely recommend a visit.
Excellent, family-run Italian restaurant that has been open in Urmston for decades. The restaurant is spacious with a quirky decor and delicious food. We were there on a very busy night (Christmas Eve), but we were served by friendly and efficient staff. To start, we had garlic bread and cheese, followed by salmon in a cream and tomato sauce and chicken in a Diane sauce. Both were excellent: the salmon was cooked perfectly, with a light and tasty sauce, and the chicken was moist and flavoursome. I have been coming here for years, and it is always a great experience.
Was worried as was full house. Some tables had alot of guests in one party so was worried about food arriving. Starters arrived and was delish everyone enjoyed. The main arrived fresh and hot. Had carbonara and is the best I’ve have had. Son wants to go back!!
I went to The Italian Job in the evening of Friday 21st March 2025 with my partner for the first time. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was amazing, mussels for starter and the lasagne for the main. My partner had the ribs to start and had the mixed pasta dish that has spaghetti and penne. Neither one of us had room for dessert which was a shame but maybe next time.
